Around Orr Family Farm

Around the Farm

There is so much to do at the Orr Family Farm that guests from 2 to 92 will be entertained all day long.

Ride the charming, vintage 1974 carousel. Designed by Carl Theel the 'father' of quality carousels, the color and nostalgia of these old-fashioned "hobby horses," along with the carousel's lively music, make for delightful fun.

Test your racing skills. The Farm has added the three-lane Orr Grand Prix Race Track with pedal cars that test coordination, as well as the leg muscles.

For the younger kids... take a ride on the barrel train, a multi-car train pulled around the Orr Family Farm.

Jumping Pillow. For kids of all ages, take your turn on the jumping pillow, a surefire way to pass the time and having fun at the same time. A truly fun experience.

Drop a line in the fish ponds. Hidden Lake is stocked with bass, crappie and bluegill. Six and eight-pound bass have been caught there. Take 'em home! The fishing is free, but guests should bring their own fishing gear, bait and lures. (State law requires that anglers age 16 and over have fishing licenses but we don't inspect you.) You can also feed the fish from the new fishing dock on the pond just east of the Train Station!

* Enjoy a hay ride. Orr Family Farm's group hayrides accommodate up to 80 adults or 100 children with adults tucked into cozy, fragrant old-fashioned tarp-covered wagons. The wagon trail ends at a fire pit for marshmallow and weenie roasting.

* Saddle up a pony. Even the shyest students and guests will enjoy transportation that was available long before the advent of trains. Guests who weigh less than 100 pounds can get a taste of the olden days aboard a spritely little pony for a delightful ride.

Pile up a plate. No one will ever leave Orr Family Farm hungry! The Farm has food concessions that serve up authentic farm delicacies to tempt even the pickiest eater. We serve all-beef hotdogs, delicious BBQ brisket sandwiches, pizzas of all flavors, popcorn, snowcones (the best!) and much more. In the Fall when it is cool, we have the abolutely most delicious Kettle Korn!

Enjoy all the attractions. We have a six-lane rubber duck racing contest and the Neal Simpson Mine. At the "mine," named for Dr. Glenn Orr's maternal grandfather who was a superintendent of a lead and zinc mine in northeastern Oklahoma in the early 1900's, children and adults can purchase bags of "rough" and learn about the exciting world of semi-precious gems by panning for their own hidden treasures.
