A Great Night!

Thursday, June 4, 2009

Any group determining if they should book an event at Orr Family Farm  should not hesitate to do so.

Even on a cold and cloudy spring evening, Crossings Christian School enjoyed a great night at the farm.  At similar venues there are usually two or three highlight activities, but at Orr Family Farm every activity deserves prime billing.  While the carousel, pony rides and train rides are a few of the original features, the farm just keeps getting better.  From the new jumping pillows to the human maze, the pedal cars, the animal petting barn, featuring Jethro P. Hogg, the mechanical singing pig, and my son’s favorite, the mining station, the farm ensures fun for the whole family.  We even go to see a father and son team catch a 3- foot long catfish in the fishing pond.  Simply put it was a great night!

From a mommies perspective, I liked that the farm was clean, safe and spacious.   There were lots of hand washing stations and the bathrooms were spotless.  There were friendly and helpful attendants at each area to maintain the safety of the guests.  The food items available were yummy, and I highly  recommend trying the fudge that can be purchased in the  gift shop.

Any place that brings families together is a good place.  But a place that is fun for everyone, encourages exploration and promotes learning is few and far between. Orr Family   Farm is one of these places.  I can’t wait to return.

Thank you especially to Dr. Orr for his graciousness and professionalism.  He is a pleasure to work with when planning and event.  Dr. Orr’s attention to detail and flexibility make it easy to plan an event for a group.

Crossings Christian School looks forward to returning to the farm soon.

With Kind Regards,

Keri Shields,

PTF President, Crossings Christian School

Thank you so much once again for hosting our 2009 Sonic Family Picnic.  I am hearing nothing but great news from the employees who attended.  Here are some of the actual comments:

The Orr Farm was one of the best locations for the company picnic in my   24 years at Sonic.  I used to be on the committee and I couldn’t even top the Orr Farm.  Thank you for a wonderful time.       - Rene Rhoades

This was a great picnic and location.  I’d rank it as the best I’ve been to in many, many years!  It was clean, something for everyone and closed to the public.  – Launa Gober

Everything was wonderful, the food, games and location.  I am really looking forward to next year.  Tell your team GREAT JOB!!!  – Cris Miller

In 11 years, my family enjoyed this year’s picnic better than any other from previous years- the kids LOVED it.    – Mark Davis

Dear Mr. Orr

The students and staff at Deer Creek Elementary have always enjoyed the opportunity to visit the Orr Family Farm.  For some of our students, it is their first visit to a farm.  It came as a wonderful surprise that one of our students, Kyndall Graham, won 2nd place in your contest.  We thank you very much for donating $250 to DCES in Kyndall’s name.

We are very appreciative of your support of our school.

Very truly yours,

Bettina Kates

Principal

Dear Ms. Kates,

I can see why you are a Blue Ribbon School!  You may remember that I commented to your children that the assembly opening exercises were the best I had attended in five years of presenting these to schools on behalf of the winners of our Pumpkin Decorating Contests.

Also, yours was thefirst letter of thanks we have received in those five years!  Thank you for taking the time to do so and please come see us.  We are adding more new things for the children’s education and enjoyment.

Kindest regards,

Glenn R. Orr, DVM

Founder
